Frequently Asked Questions
What is handheld laser welding used for?
Handheld fiber laser welding is used for joining stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and copper in fabrication, automotive repair, furniture manufacturing and general metalwork. It produces clean welds with minimal distortion and little post-processing.
What power do I need for handheld laser welding?
1000W handles most thin materials up to 3mm. 1500–2000W is the sweet spot for general fabrication including 3–5mm plate. 3000W is for thicker sections or high-speed production. The wobble welding head helps bridge gaps and produce wider seams.
Is laser welding safe? What protection is needed?
Yes, with proper safety equipment. Each system includes a laser safety enclosure for the workpiece, protective eyewear rated for the specific wavelength (1070nm), and an extraction system. Operators require basic training on laser safety protocols.
